I'm not sure if Shotter's Nation is better than Down in Albion but I'll figure it out sooner or later.... Lost Art of Murder is a great song.

I listented to both album twice to compare and it's fucking sure - No way is SN any better than DiA. DiA is an awesome record and much more powerful than SN. Yes, I'm probably the only one to be a little disappointed.

Oh I am pleased you like the album, I'm absolutely adoring it. Agreed on most counts here, but I honestly cannot decide whether SN is better than DiA or vice versa just yet...

Albion is a fine fine album of sprawl and mess with little nuances of pop songs sprouting up in just the right doses. Shotter's is wayyyy to tidy and British sounding to be anywhere near Albion in quality. It's a Steven Street album. Not a Pete Doherty album.

I can't believe this review. I'm a big Pete Doherty/libertines fan and I was incredibly disappointed with this album. Stolen riffs... effortless lyrics... all in all a complete step-down from Down In Albion, which was a brilliant album.
To say this album is his best work since The Libs is ridiculous, where have the songs gone that talked about anything other than drugs?
Due to his drug taking...gone is his eagerness and excitement towards the music he makes and it seems, his incredible talent...
    :(
