Pretty Much Amazing: The Killers – Day and Age Album Review

  • Cliff · 1 year ago
Great review! I really enjoyed the album too! Though, I have to disagree with you on "The World We Live In," I think it's great!

Sweet. 9.5 bulbs! I'm hoping their will be more good reviews out there this time. I was so angry when Sam's Town got horrible reviews!

I love the album like it is, but the bonus track "A Crippling Blow" is just too good to ignore. I loved it. I hope it's on the physical release!

Great review, by the way. It's nice to see a music blog with actual taste, and not just impulse.

Maybe 9/5 bulbs is a bit of a stretch? I was thinking more on the 7-8 side.

evolved is such a good word to describe the Killers!

I really like The World that We Live in. the only song I don't really care for is the closer

    great review, nonetheless!

i LOVE the killers, but i was not a huge fan of sam's town. it was decent and i listened to it quite a bit for a while but it just didnt feel like the killers i fell in love with.
but i'm SO happy with the new stuff. old killers are back with a new twist!
(and im so happy to see the beard go. brandon flowers is so pretty clean-faced)

Loved 'Hot Fuss', loved 'Sam's Town' even more after a few listens, now 'Day and Age' is all I have listened to for the last 4 days. It is a diverse and fantastic album. I feel it is now safe to say that this band is for real and that I am now a victim. The best songs on the album for me are, well I like them all.

good review, randi... it's like i know exactly how it sounds without actually listening to it! Anyways, it was seriously well written, so pat yourself on the back!

Great review, but I think the album is terrible. Maybe a few more listens will help, but things just seem "off" with this album. I know they've "evolved", but it just seems like they could've done much better, or chose better songs for this one.

I like the album, change doesn't always mean evolve though.  It has become something different, but IMO not something better.  Still catchy. Anybody else hear the shins?

    This album is ok.
just feel it;s a little to retro
    and forward moving enough.
I was lucky enough to catch
a live set from this new indietronica band
    called nite club.
    simply new music for 09

I absolutely love the whole album. Now, I agree there is no Mr. Brightside, but as a whole the album is wonderful. Brandon's voice is awesome. The band does a great job. I love the horns and harp in a couple of the songs.

Who's more of a bottom, Brandon Flowers or Adam Lambert?
